Business is in the glass with Vinitaly
The International Wine Competition and tastings are two of the marketing tools that Vinitaly provides companies all over the world in order to demonstrate the excellence of their wines and establish contacts with buyers. Innovations for the most selective competition in the world and tastings in 2010.
Verona, 2 March 2010 - Business meetings, supply and demand…Vinitaly (8-12 April 2010, www.vinitaly.com) is all this and more because marketing at Verona also passes through the International Wine Competition and the tastings scheduled over the five days of the event.
The International Wine Competition, acknowledged as the most selective in the world (enrolments close on 5 March), will begin on 29 March and close on 2 April. As of this year, the Special “Vinitaly Nation 2010” and “Grand Vinitaly 2010” Awards will be joined by the Special “Vinitaly Region 2010” Award, while producers may identify their wines winning medals on the bottles with the wording “International Wine Competition 2010”. In this way, recognition of quality attained becomes a full-scale marketing tool ensuring impact all over the world.
Among the tastings organised during Vinitaly 2010, Tasting Ex…Press offers original itineraries linking wines and the women of the wine world, or the “impossible” wines made in difficult areas, flanked by appointments with labels from New Zealand and Australian Shiraz, the Grüner Veltliner of Austria, the Ribolla Gialla of Oslavia, the great Rieslings of Germany, the best vintages of Amarone, the pure Marsala wines of great years and the tasting of the best Italian wines of 2009 as ranked by Wine Enthusiast.
Antinori proposes a vertical tasting of Solaia, while Civiltà del Bere presents a tasting of “blue chip” wines - those with the highest value in terms of bottles produced and awards of excellence earned in the wine guides; there are two appointments with organic wines, one organised by Slow Food, the other by Gambero Rosso.
The list of tastings is available online in the Vinitaly site (www.vinitaly.com/visitatori).
Business also takes in Taste Italy, the tasting assisted by sommeliers at free times offering matching between a selection of wines from the best national cellars and international buyers. The innovation this year is the section dedicated to organic wines.
Vinitaly will again be flanked by appointments with Sol, Agrifood Club and Enolitech.
Synergy with Sol and Agrifood Club has proven to be very effective from a promotional point of view, ensuring complete cultural, sensorial and commercial integration between wine, typical foods and extra-virgin olive oil for traders from all over the world. Delightful tastings and gastronomy workshops are proposed in collaboration with Sol over the days of the event, with a timetable covering breakfast, aperitifs, lunch and happy hour, while the Designer Restaurant, the Designer Self-Service Restaurant managed by the Young Restaurateurs of Europe Association, Sol Goloso and Citadel of Gastronomy will serve traditional dishes in Italian cuisine prepared by internationally famous chefs together with the best wines by exhibiting companies.
